Wavy Day

This was my hair on the day we had my cousin's bachelorette party. I love my hair wavy and on this particular day it looked pretty good if I may say so. Getting it to keep the wave is the hard part. Usually I try to rely on a lot of hairspray. I hate the feeling it gives to my hair though so I've been trying to find ways to make it keep it's shape without all the spray.
The day before this I had french braided my hair in two braids. I left those braids in the whole day and slept with them in also. The next day when I took them out, this is what I got. Nice even waves and a longer lasting hold. It was a great way to have a cute hairdo one day and some sultry waves the next!

Hair Cut!

New Stylist + New Haircut = Fabulous

As I have been growing out my hair for the last year, I have not gotten regular haircuts, just a few here and there to keep the ends decent. But finally I have gotten it to a length I love and so I thought it was time for a good haircut.

An old friend from church, Jenelle, who does hair recently moved to a new salon right across the street from me. How convenient! They have decent prices and so I decided to try it out.

Jenelle was right at the front when I walked in. The salon was pretty and classy. It had a nice vibe. My hair was washed and then cut, during which Jenelle and I spent our time catching up on life.

I was very happy with how my hair turned out. Great layers. And I have bangs again! Well kind of. These pictures were taken right after the appointment. She put the curls in at the salon. Thanks Jenelle!

For No Reason

My hair was special today for no reason in particular. I was getting ready for church and after my shower I could not decide what to do with it. As it has been really hot and humid I did not want to touch my blow dryer or my straightener. I thought about letting it air dry but then it would still be warm on my neck.
So... I broke out the bobby pins (my best friend) and did some random twists and little braids and this is what I got. I wore a blue dress and thought the flower would be a fun summer accent. I did not
plan the do around the flower, but put the flower in after.
The top was two sections of hair pinned up. Then I did two braids twisted around. I could have done this more in the center but I love the side-do and so I centered everything behind my ear. The bottom part was just a loose braid twisted into a bun and pinned up.
I think this would be a very pretty formal style even though I did it for an ordinary day. The flower wouldn't even have to be there.

There you have
hairstyle #1.
I hope you like it.

Hair?

So this is me. And my hair. My usual guinea pig. I have been told that I have very nice hair. Soft and shiny... However one thing it will not do for me is hold a curl! I have to use almost a whole bottle of spray or mousse just to try to make it through the day with some wave.
Ok, I exaggerate a little. But my hair is not friendly in that area.
For many years I have been doing my own hair. From learning to french braid myself to formal styles, I love doing it. I get bored of always straightening it or always putting it in a ponytail. So I do something different.
Whether you read this for do-ideas or because you find me mildly entertaining, I hope you enjoy it.
